Fade Away Artists:

Like I’ve said before, I don’t like clichés. This post is me making good on a promise to start a comprehensive list of bands that have fallen into the trap of using the age-old cliché, “fade away.” Everyone does it. My old band is on this list, too. People like Bob Dylan have used it before (although it was less of a cliché in his time, I’m sure). Even bands I love like Jellyfish and Radiohead have succumbed to the lure of “Fade Away.” Bands like Staind have popularized and oversaturated us with the phrase, and I assure you the police are out on the lookout for them, even as we speak. This is far from a comprehensive list (even this took a very long time). It’s a mere toe-dip in the cesspool of acrid lyrics which all contain the phrase “fade away”, in some manifestation or other.
